Design Thesis in Urban Design Renewal in a Historic District and Adaptive Reuse. The final design proposal consisted of a new urban design for the historic district of the town of Arecibo and an educational building which incorporated the ruins of a colonial military fortification. The investigation included an in depth look on the urban characteristics of the Arecibo Historic District and the context in which the architecture developed through its 500 years of history and proposal to revitalize the area through influx of commercial and cultural activity as well as housing.
